Is it worth the effort

It's no surprise that many famous people employ someone to handle their social media accounts. Let's face it. I'm not famous, I don't even want to be, but I do want people to read my books. So, social media is a great advertising space. It's just a lot of effort for little gain. The website is fine, you set it up, and you leave it. However, if you then start a news reel or a blog, as I did, then you need to keep on top of those. Then there is X, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. I spent hours creating TikTok videos to try to reach a wider audience. The end result was a few dozen followers and a few likes. No sales. In fact, as I posted before, most of the time I was contacted by people trying to scam me.
So, on reflection, is it worth my effort? Probably not. I will commit to posting a blog entry a few times a month and the occasional TikTok, but I think a full-on social media presence is just too much.
