It’s funny—I never thought of myself as a writer. I used to wonder how authors came up with stories, and I still marvel at how some can produce book after book. Until I wrote The Asanja Saga, I never would have imagined I could create an epic of my own. But I did.

Realms Beyond is released. Realms Corrupted is entering its final round of edits. Realms Forsaken already has a full draft, and Realms Unravelled, the last book in the saga, is just a chapter away from being finished.

And yet—here’s the strange part—I’ve already started planning my next series. The idea is still hazy, more of a spark than a fully formed story, but the plot is beginning to take shape. As Rob Alexander described in a book I recently read (and reviewed), I’m full of “ill-imagined thoughts” right now. Hopefully, they’ll crystallize into strong characters and a compelling plot over the coming year.

So yes, I suppose I really am an author. I don’t know exactly where these stories come from—but long may they keep coming. I’ve often written about the frustrations of publishing, but the joy of crafting a story is something I wouldn’t trade for anything.
