Is someone listening

As I've gone about my daily business I've found lots of things that throw me back to The Asanja Series. Little references on TV or in a book that echo what I've done. It's a really weird feeling. Two examples. When I was creating my characters I wanted a Japanese girls name. I researched a few and settled on Suzume. It means sparrow and fit perfectly with what I wanted. It was not a name I had heard before. Then I wanted a name for a character in Realms Forsaken, again after researching I settled on Marduk, a Babylonian god.  A very uncommon name, or so I thought.

Later I was reading the review of a Japanese fantasy novel, whose main protagonist was called Suzume. I felt like someone had plagiarised my work. That's my characters name....how dare they!  Last week I finished the Demon Code by David Leadbeater,  imagine my surprise when one of the antagonists was called Marduk. There have been other such incidents, where certain ideas, I have had suddenly are being used, in Netflix series etc.  It's starting to make me nervous. You think you've written an original passage of text only to find that someone beat you to the idea.  The sooner I get Realms Beyond published the better.
