I've quickly realised that there is zero money to be made in self-publishing. I mean, if you sold a lot of books then you might make a bit, but on the whole the return is pretty poor.
I was trying to establish a price for the book. KDP have a 40/60 split.  Out of your 60 you need to take off printing costs. So for example if you sell a book for £10.  Amazon take £4. Leaving you £6. But it might cost £5.50 to print it.  Which leaves you with 50p per book. It's actually worse than than that. After testing out what I thought was a reasonable price for my book, I found I was actually going to make a loss on every sale.  So, please don't balk when you see the price of the book. It's not because I am being greedy and want to make a sack of money. It's because I want to at least break even.
