The finishing post

The final few steps are pretty painful.  The cover is done, but there still seems to be a lot to do.  One last read of Realms Beyond unearthed another half a dozen typos. Surely I've got them all now.  Then I had to format it, load it onto KDP and Ingram Spark, and fill in the Nielsen Title Editor. Finally, I had to contact Goodreads.
Just a little bit of waiting now, and it will soon be done. 

It felt stressful. The Nielsen Text Editor site was not accepting submissions. I thought it was me, but it turns out it was their fault. I did find some of the settings a little confusing, especially around the publishing rights.

To temper my stress, I posted about the upcoming book on X and Facebook. I got lots of lovely comments about that. Now, however, I'd like to know if I did that too early.  I went for a 4th August release date so that I would have time to get Goodreads to respond, and also so I could contact the book critic on X who posts all new indie books that month.  I was uncertain how long these things might take.  I've announced it to the world...well, my small world...but there are still seven weeks to go.
